Setup: 2 students on a voice call, one laptop each. Each opens this page and picks a different role (Coder / Linguist). They must speak English to share clues. You (the teacher) drive pacing on the call, ask follow-ups, and use the answer keys below to model corrections.

How the game reacts: Each room asks for a sentence using the target grammar. The student types it or speaks it (the mic writes into the box). An AI Game Master checks the grammar, gives feedback, and writes the next part of the story. Correct grammar unlocks the next room. If the AI is offline, use the ⚙️ Teacher override button to unlock manually.

Model answers (say these on the call if students are stuck):

  • R1 First conditional: "If we pull the fire alarm, the doors will unlock."
  • R2 Present perfect: "The principal has locked every exit and we have found only two keycards."
  • R3 Second conditional: "If I were the principal, I would keep the master key in my desk."
  • R4 Past perfect: "We had already disabled the cameras when the guard arrived."
  • R5 Future perfect: "By sunrise, we will have escaped and every student will have gone home."

Tip: keep it low-stakes. There is no losing timer — the "lockdown" is only story flavour so students can experiment with language freely.
