The movie is science fiction, but it borrows real ideas from quantum physics — the science of the tiniest things in the universe. The biggest idea is the Many-Worlds Interpretation, suggested by physicist Hugh Everett in 1957. Here are four ideas from the film, with the real science next to them.

Jobu Tupaki puts everything onto a bagel until it becomes a dark spinning hole that pulls everything in. It looks like a black hole, but it really stands for a feeling: that nothing matters (this idea is called nihilism).
